Hope For Children Ministry, a non-profit organization founded by a Christian youth called Alexis Ruhumuriza, started in 2005 in Kigali/Kicukiro with a vision of sharing Christ to street children through the good news of the Bible to abandon street life. In 2007 Hope For Children Ministry founders started Catch-up School in order to help those children leaving the street to finish primary school in 3 years.
Hope For Children Ministry started with 150 children, and now in 2016 has 1,125. From 2007 through 2015, 92% have passed, and are at secondary schools.
Through the generosity of donors, Hope For Children Ministry was able to purchase land and build a new school in 2010.
The school now has 7 classrooms for primary, nursery and catch up (for those entering school as older kids to catch-up).
